Donald Trump Wants a Nobel Peace Prize and He Would Start a war to Get it
He announced what he did and that the mideast had peace even before the planes got back to their bases after the bombing.. Of course, he embellished everything including claiming to have talked to Iranian leaders, (which he didn't). Everything Trump claimed was destroyed was not destroyed and this was clear by the next morning. Trump, however, stuck to his lie and is now lashing out at CNN, MSNBC, and others for reporting what really happened. (Fake News, of course🙄..."Fake News" is the Trump mantra for "Don't believe what you see...believe what I say"). He even lashed out at Netanyahu when Israel bombed the following day and Netanyahu is a Super right wing evangelical Icon to the point of being a sacred cow in many of the eyes of the right wing evangelicals.).
Trump hasn't even been in office for 6 months and he has caused so much chaos here in the US and around the entire world. And he does NOTHING unless he benefits from it. Wagging the Dog is a major foundation and motivator of Trump policy. It's also the foundation of what Maga is.

A Faux Construct of "God."
👉(“The hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24)
👉There are millions of people that go to church and join with others who believe they are worshipping God. Those who are seeking Him in spirit and truth are doing just that and bear the fruit of that. Of those who went to church, though, there is a staggering large number of people who are worshipping the God they have created in their own image, and hence, lack both the "spirit" and the "truth" aspect of worship. Without it you can likely get the same results by singing along to an old Beatles song or the latest top 40 country hit. The return would be the same as attempting to worship God on our own terms.
👉In the Old Testament the Israelite tribes camped around the Tabernacle in the wilderness, and the presence of God was said to appear visibly over its inner sanctuary in the form of a cloud by day and fire by night. Moses sometimes spoke to God "face to face" in this sanctuary, also called the Tent of Meeting. Aaron and his sons ministered inside the Tabernacle, offering burnt sacrifices outside the Tent of Meeting and attending a golden incense altar in the inner sanctuary. The sacred Ark of the Covenant was also kept in the Tabernacle, in the "Holy of Holies. "This "sanctuary" experience of then is our experience of worship today. The tearing of the temple curtain (Matt 27:51) symbolized “the end of the old covenant of atonement through animal sacrifice and the beginning of a 'new covenant'” The veil being torn in two speaks of the body of Jesus Christ being broken on our behalf to make access to Him possible. It literally means that the barrier between us and him has been removed.
👉Now back to Bannister's question about Muslims, the question is better asked "Can Muslims and Christians worship the same God?" The answer is yes. Anyone can...as the veil was torn. Do they? If they come before God in spirit and truth then yes...otherwise it is not successful and the answer is, hence, a resounding "no." It remains then, that they worship a faux construct of God. Unfortunately, there are a great number of people who claim to be Christian who also worship a faux construct of God.
👉Though many try and often believe they enter that place, It is the holy of holies and only the truly committed ever really enter there. Seeking the face of God in worship is a life changing experience and something that should not only be done on Sundays but whenever we can. You will be blessed that you did

Conspiracies Near and Far...
I think the trouble with conspiracy theories is that they often become indefensible beliefs, beliefs that just can't be shown to be wrong at all. You run into people where you realize, “Oh wait, you believe something that you've painted yourself into a corner where you can't ever be wrong about this?” And I think that flags something about the appeal of the conspiracy theory. --Dru JohnsonSomeone once wrote: I'd rather be labeled a conspiracy theorist than a sheep! It's too bad people settle for either. I would rather study the subject, verify & consider my sources, look at the data and then make a decision on all issues and especially on ones that may be a life and death issue for me AND others around me. Conspiracy theorists simply follow the demands and information they get from their wolf of choice. Sheep are extremely intelligent animals capable of problem solving (or so I have read) but in the context that the author of the comment above indicated she/he meant it as someone who just stupidly follows. There's nothing wrong with being a "sheep" IF you "study the subject, verify & consider your sources, look at the data and then make a decision accordingly. Jesus referred to His followers as sheep and preached several parables likewise. Most disciples of Jesus considered the available information (scripture, etc.) and acted accordingly to follow. God gave everyone a brain and the power to reason and make intelligent decisions. Use it. A new study by the University of Fribourg found a the belief that God created the Earth less than ten thousand years ago was linked to beliefs in things like faked moon landings. The team at the University conducted a number of different experiments through questionnaires with over 800 people. The link between the two was attributed to teleological thinking where a person doesn't question certain facts. A false witness will perish, but the word of a man who hears will endure. A wicked man puts on a bold face, but the upright gives thought to his ways. No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the Lord. The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord -Proverbs 21:28-31. “The masses have been fooled by the media and/or government, but I’m special and different, and I know the truth!” -The foundation and/or inspiration for most conspiracy theories.

“Christian nationalism is, in my own definition, the unholy alliance of bad history and bad theology. The Christian nationalist advance has nothing to do with Christ at all.” --Tim Alberta

A seminary professor once said that when we read the Bible, we should read it with resistance: constantly asking questions, wrestling with it the way Jacob wrestled with God.

“Pure democracy cannot subsist long nor be carried far into the departments of state—it is very subject to caprice and the madness of popular rage.” -Declaration signer John Witherspoon

The Thief Realized Who Jesus Was.
I posted this meme to Facebook with a quote by Philip Yancey 5 years ago and agreed with it. But now I look at it and I dont agree with it. I dont think the thief converted out of plain fear. I believe he truly realized Jesus was who He claimed to be. The thief may have had a educated religious background and put it together, although there's no mention of his life except that he was thief. I just dont see any case for a last minute verbal conversion will help anyone unless it's born out of real faith, and not just out fear. I know lots of people who verbally say "Jesus is Lord" but don't truly believe it but use it to placate people around them. At judgement we will be informed whether he "knows" us....and the worse thing to hear at that point is "I never knew you".Now I don't have any disrespect for Yancey as I've read several of his books. But I will have to disagree with this point. Agree or disagree??

Quote Bytes for June 1
“The Christian right is dead, but the religious right is stronger than it’s ever been. Another way of putting it is that the religious right has divorced itself from historical Christian theology but still holds its partisan beliefs with religious intensity. The religious fervor is there. Christian virtues are not.” -David French
"According to Jewish temple traditions, Jews were not allowed to give offerings in the temple at Jerusalem using coins that had the image of Caesar stamped on them. This was deemed idolatrous. Thus, when they arrived at Jerusalem from neighbouring towns to celebrate the Jewish annual festivals, they were mandated by temple officials to change their coins with the money changers who hung around the temple’s premises. These money changers charged very exorbitant rates for these transactions. Furthermore, God specifically gave Moses the exact description of the types of animals that could be accepted for sacrifices in the temple for various annual festivals (Leviticus 22: 17-25). To be acceptable to God for sacrifice, these animals must be unblemished. Surprisingly, some Jews would still bring animals with various shades of defects and blemishes to the temple for the sacrifices, all of which would be flatly rejected by the temple officials. To be deemed acceptable, those who brought defective animals to the temple were also mandated to have their animals changed, which was a situation that made the animal changers to charge the people exorbitantly for the required switches. It would interest you to know that Caiaphas, the high priest, according to Jewish history, had a major stake in both the animal and money changing businesses, which explained why he and the rest of the aristocratic Sadducees hated Jesus so implacably. We would recall that Jesus once whipped the money changers out of the temple, scattering their tables (John 2:14-15). We should now understand why Caiaphas was ready to get rid of Jesus, once the opportunity came his way — Jesus was making them lose a lot of free money. --Ayo Akerel
